selling

i ran 11.5 miles on saturday. the next time i see that distance on a run, i'll be natick, MA.

excited yet? "just another run," you say? true, in very many respects it is just another run. however, i can't say that any given saturday run around town lake has generated the amount of ebay traffic that the 110th annual hopkinton 42k classic has generated. let's see some of the sale highlights for this year...

johnny kelley bobblehead
so, i've always thought of laying flowers at the foot of his statue as a means of paying tribute to one of the great spirits in all of running. but hey, what could flowers say that a bobblehead can't?

race day registration
as you may be aware, part of boston's lore comes from the fact that you must earn entry into the race by qualifying at a prior marathon. or by cutting a $350 check to the black market. you thought the sox ticket market was cut-throat? some people would give their left foot to run boston; if what this fella was doing was legal by marathon standards, he'd make a killing.

running advertisement
but why sell your bib when you can sell your body? now we're talking! if someone's out there who wants to sell their 2007 bib, maybe they can pay this guy to advertise for them during the run.

marathon workout video
aside from being extra-long and having extra-stamina, i don't know what the hell this video has to do with the marathon.
