one year ago, i was sidelined for the capitol 10,000 with an injury to my knee cartilage. camping out at mile five and running with my coworkers for 100 yards as they came through was all i could do before the aching would set in. that aching would last the better part of a year as my cartilage injury morphed into a calf tear, which morphed into tibial tendonitis. the team took home the Corporate Challenge that year, but not without fierce competition from team intel.
to stand at the start line last week and look up congress again was a victory in and of itself. to cross the finish line with my team made it all the sweeter.
to team national instruments, five-time capitol 10,000 corporate challenge champions: i feel so very fortunate to fly with your flock. i can hardly wait to see you--and team intel--again in 2010.
